Downer Times

It has been quite awhile since I last posted.  Basically it has been downer times for me as of late as my bad luck didn't stop in Honduras.  After we returned to Vancouver in September I had surgery to remove my gallbladder as those abdomen pains I was having in California and Mexico were due to gallstones.  After the surgery I developed blood clots in my lower right leg and as a result I had to take blood thinners for three months while being monitored.  Not fun.

That said, things are on the up now as I am off the medication and have been given the green light to leave again.  So, the new plan is to backpack South America beginning in a few hours time.  Then return to Vancouver probably in late February and begin cycling again in March heading east.  I considered starting cycling again now but being winter here at the moment it didn't seem very wise.
